Backstory:
Keshi was born and raised in Rone, a town seemingly cut off from the rest of the world since it's completely surrounded by mountains. Unlike the outside world that believes Rone not to even exist, Keshi grew up with the knowledge in Rone that there was an "outside world". Unlike everyone else living in Rone, however, Keshi wanted to leave (as his mother had done when he was only eight). His childhood friend, who became his girlfriend not too long ago, wanted to leave with him but couldn't. Keshi's dad is a farmer, mainly producing fruit, so most of the fruit Keshi sells comes from his own farm (some come from his neighbors).
Keshi always sees the best in people, and mistakes are easily forgiven and forgotten to him. Because he grew up in such a close-knit community with such little violence or problems, his understanding of the world is much different than everyone else's...

Backstory:
Zev grew up in Inochi, a city occupied mainly by Humans and Ryoka, and a city with a terrible reputation as being "dangerous". His family was pretty poor - his mother didn't work, and though his father had a job working at a general store, most of his income came from selling drugs and was then spent on alcohol. Zev hardly attented school, and when he turned nine became an official member of a Ryoka named Voden's gang, called Kreite. Zev frequently argued with his father and he felt some bitterness towards his mother.
After the Inochi Massacre, Zev went to live with his uncle, his father's brother, in Direi. His uncle, like his father, liked to drink (though not to the same extent), and actually allowed Zev to have some. Zev initially hated Direi because things were so different, and he found himself getting in trouble for things that he could've gotten away with in Inochi. A semester before he would have graduated from school, Zev quit and got a job from his uncle as being a mailman.
Zev's a rather cynical and sarcastic person, who though can be very likable, can also start a lot of fights. He likes to be right, and he likes telling others whatever it is he's right about is. He doesn't really like being a mailman - he always wanted to be a soldier - but he likes that he gets to travel a lot.

Backstory:
Rezen is the son of Lord Sraven Jeinn Onikari, and thus grew up in Akarin - the main city of their territory. Despite being only half-demon, he was the one designated to be Sraven's heir instead of Rezen's older full-demon half-sister Zaren because he was a boy. He was upset at being named the heir because he felt she deserved it more than he did. Though he loved his family, he was terrified of the city - he knew its demon citizens didn't like him because of his human blood, and he didn't like the looks they gave him.
Rezen was 9 when his father Sraven and his mother Nori were murdered. Rezen was then supposed to become the next lord, but through a series of events that only he, his sister, and Akarin's people know, he did not - instead he disappeared and was presumed dead, while his sister then took their father's place.
Where Rezen has been until now is unknown.

Backstory:
Sachi was born on a farm in Neosha, the youngest of the family and with 4 older brothers. Her family is not exactly known for having a good sense of direction, but they somehow always end up where they need to go eventually. One year when Sachi was 8 they decided they were going to move...and somehow ended up in Rone.
They lived there for a year, but then decided they had to leave because they missed the outside world. So they left and somehow ended up back in Neosha, but no one believed that they'd been in Rone. They told them their bad sense of direction got them lost and they were just confused. (Their inability to explain how they got there didn't help.)
Sachi had become friends with Keshi when they were in Rone that year, and they made a promise to each other before she left. Sachi ran away from home to go see him again, but got lost...but in the process found out Keshi had left Rone, so she then started trying to find him.
